Integrated Projects Week at TSC

For Integrated Project Week (IPW) this year, I teamed up with my former associate teacher, Kirsten, (now a lead teacher at our school) to offer students the Creative Letter Writing Club. The students had proposed a variety of ideas for projects that centered around writing, and since Kirsten and I both appreciate the art of letter writing and sending real mail, we decided to offer that as a project. Throughout the week we created letter writing kits, made homemade envelopes and postcards, read many books about letters, and wrote to a variety of people, from authors to family members. The kids even wrote to The Magic Typewriter who lives in the lost and found at Grand Central Terminal, and we had a very mysterious and exciting letter exchange with The Magic Typewriter at Grand Central.

It was such a great week that we plan to revive the Creative Letter Writing Club again for next year's IPW.

We had fun at Grand Central trying to recreate this adorable photo we had seen online.
